"Look What Viruses Do To The Population" Including Coronavirus

Human diseases caused by viruses include cold, influenza, chickenpox, and cold sores.  Many serious diseases such as rabies, Ebola, AIDS, cancer, avian influenza, SARS, MERS and COVID-19 are also caused by viruses.

Viruses have different mechanisms by which they produce disease in an organism.  Mechanisms at the cellular level primarily include cell lysis, the breaking open and subsequent death of the cell.  In multicellular organisms, if enough cells die, the whole organism will start to suffer the effects.

Viruses also transform normal cells into malignant cells by genome incorporation.  That is very dangerous because normal cells become cancerous cells by viral gene insertion into their genome.  The research shows that lead to incorrect cell growth and irreversible cell damage.

Virus

Host cell fusion is another cellular effect of viral infection.  In this case, two viral infected cells fuse together and form a giant multinuclear cell with viral particles in it.  The cytopathic effect of virus include cell rounding/deformity, cell disintegration/death and cell infection by viral components.

The ability of viruses to cause devastating epidemics in human societies has led to the concern that viruses could be weaponized for extensive biological/germ warfare as Biological "Weapons of Mass Destruction" (WMD), in fact, even for bioterrorism which is banned by the 1925 Geneva Protocol around the world. The Protocol was drawn up and signed at a conference which was held in the city of Geneva, Switzerland, Europe, under the auspices of the League of Nations from 4th May to 17th June 1925, and it entered into force on 8th February 1928.  In fact, biological, chemical and nuclear weapons should never be utilized around the world in any warfare for terrible consequences such as one found guilty of committing war crimes.

The Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) is an arms control treaty that outlaws the production, stockpiling, and use of chemical weapons and their precursors. The full name of the treaty is the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction and it is administered by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), an intergovernmental organization based in The Hague, Netherlands, Europe. The treaty entered into force on 29th April 1997.

On 5th August 1963, representatives of the United States, the Soviet Union, and Great Britain signed the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, which prohibited the testing of nuclear weapons in outer space, underwater, or in the atmosphere.  The treaty, which President John F. Kennedy of the United States signed, was hailed as a very important step toward the control of nuclear weapons.  Three months after signing the treaty, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on 22nd November 1963.  There are sanctions against such war crimes imposed by the International Criminal Court (ICC).  ICC is located at The Hague, Netherlands, Europe to deal with such war crimes for about 195 countries of the world population of 7.7 billion people as of April 2019.

Smallpox virus devastated numerous societies throughout the world history as a plague before its eradication. There are only two centers in the world that are authorized by the World Health Organization (WHO) to keep stocks of smallpox virus: the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology VECTOR in Russia and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States.  Fears that it may be used as a weapon may not be totally unfounded.  As the vaccine for smallpox sometimes had severe side-effects, it is no longer used routinely in any country. Thus, much of the modern human population has almost no established resistance to smallpox, and would be vulnerable to the virus.

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a pandemic we’re still battling. And while medicine has made great strides, making HIV in many ways a chronic condition that can be managed in many countries, the end of the pandemic still seems to be a long way away. Originating in Cameroon and first recognized as a disease in 1981, the earliest documented case is believed to be in 1959 in the Congo. As of 2011 at least 60 million people had been infected by AIDS and 25 million had died. Today its impact varies widely across the world—while in 2008 an estimated 1.2 million Americans had HIV, Sub-Saharan Africa alone was home to 22.9 million cases, with one in five adults infected. About 35.3 million people were believed to have HIV in 2012.

Viruses cause physical and psychological effects in society, employment, homes, and intimate relationships.  People with virus feel trapped and have a desire to break away from the bondage that this terrible disease has with the person.  However, running from the issue at hand only makes the problem worse.  With one’s own strength and loving care of others a positive result can be attained.  Ignorance is the main problem with viruses today.  Too many people are judgmental about the disease without having any knowledge of its nature such as segregation, discrimination, termination, rejection, revenge, jealousy, sabotage, suicide, possession, compartmentalization and hate crimes.

A new study shows that long-term effects of viruses include hearing and vision loss, joint and muscle pain, bruises, arthritis, paralysis, abdominal and back pain, cancer, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, skin disease, nail disease, bleeding, malaise, anxiety, obesity, blood pressure, cholesterol, heart, shortness of breath, impotence, psychological and disability problems.  In fact, some patients were unable to perform their previous jobs for up to one year.  In summary, viral infections cause too much physical, psychological and financial damage to the population.  If anything can stop them, it is you.

We need vaccine and medication to stop the spread of these viruses and cure the sick.  Therefore, please be safe, stay at home and work from home.  After years of research, HIV still does not have any vaccine.  We must end this germ war, because millions and thousands of people have died and got sick due to AIDS, COVID-19 and other viral diseases such like liver cancer caused by Hepatitis C Virus (HCV).  Now, we have some hope that Coronavirus will have vaccine in next few months.  In fact, the United States has signed $1.95 billion agreement with the U.S. pharmaceutical giant Pfizer and German firm BioNTech for initial 100 million doses of their Coronavirus vaccine.  This is a good start to immunize and protect American people early next year, 2021, from COVID-19.

The agreement is between the companies and Operation Warp Speed of White House to accelerate the development of COVID-19 vaccines and therapies.  Pfizer-BioNTech is evaluating at least four experimental COVID-19 vaccines. The agreement is for the most advanced of these, BNT162b1. It, and one of the others, BNT162b2, received Fast Track designation from the FDA on July 13th, 2020 based on preliminary data from early stage clinical trials taking place in the U.S. and Germany.

Pfizer and its collaborator BioNTech expect to manufacture up to 100 million doses globally by the end of 2020 and potentially more than 1.3 billion doses by the end of 2021. The companies plan to begin final Phase 2 testing and Phase 3 clinical trials by the end of July.  The companies hope to begin the regulatory approval process to get a vaccine licensed by the Food and Drug Administration as early as October.

The release said the U.S. government will pay the companies upon the receipt of the first 100 million doses after FDA authorization or approval. It was not clear whether the payment would be made if the vaccine were not approved by the FDA. The agreement gives the United States an option to buy an additional 500 million doses.  Americans will receive the vaccine for free, “consistent with the U.S. government’s commitment for free access for COVID-19 vaccines”.

This partnership of companies has good relationship, financial and new technological resources to deliver COVID-19 vaccine rapidly.  Pfizer is one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies of about 88,300 employees with revenue of approximately $51.75 billion.  BioNTech is a next generation immunotherapy company pioneering novel therapies for cancer and other serious diseases like COVID-19.

People with following pre-existing medical conditions that means diseases and habits are at increased risk for developing severe illness from Coronavirus:

Weakened Immune System

Asthma

Pulmonary Fibrosis (damaged lungs)

Smoking

Heart Conditions

Liver Disease

Chronic Kidney Disease

Neurological Conditions

Diabetes

Hypertension

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Cancer

Pregnancy

If you have HIV, HCV or some other viral infection and that infection is not under good control by medication then your immune system will have a harder time defending you against Coronavirus.  That is to say, you will be more likely to have serious medical complications because your immune system is already compromised.

Once a person is infected with these viruses that person is infected forever.  This is why we must stop infections, and there is only one-way to stop those infections.  We must develop and deliver vaccines according to the Operation Warp Speed to protect world population.

Russia said that the country’s Coronavirus vaccine is nearing the end of clinical trials and is likely to get the approval in mid-August of Year 2020.  That completion will potentially make it the world’s first approved vaccine against the diseases caused by Coronavirus.

Russia currently has at least three vaccines in development, and President Vladimir Putin has said developing one would be a matter of national pride.  He also said that the vaccine would not be used unless it is proven to be safe.

Russia is hoping to produce about 30 million doses of vaccine by the end of the Year 2020.  Russia has also struck manufacturing deals with five other countries and could be producing up to 170 million doses of the vaccine by the end of the Year 2020.

I believe rapidly developing Coronavirus vaccine successfully would be a national pride to any country by becoming 1st, 2nd, 3rd ... Nth winner in saving the world population.  Let us expand the mission of our President Donald Trump by making the world great again because these viruses are highly contagious and deadly.  In fact, within 3 years, Coronavirus Pandemic has more than 87 million cases and 1 million deaths in the United Sates.  Around the world, even with the strictest viral lockdowns, this viral pandemic has more than 549 million cases and 6 million deaths including the people of the United States.  Remember that we are reading, understanding and writing the world history for solutions.

There is some good news.  President Vladimir Putin announced on August 11th, 2020 that Russia has approved a Coronavirus vaccine for mass production.  The drug named Sputnik V will be made available from late August or September.  However, the drug has some concerns because it has not undergone phase-3 trials, which are considered important to guarantee the safety of a vaccine.  Currently, more than 100 possible vaccines are being developed worldwide to try to stop the spread of Coronavirus Pandemic because this pandemic has highly contagious airborne deadly virus.

Therefore, to treat COVID-19 patients, more than 150 different drugs are being researched in different countries.  Most are existing drugs that are being trailed against the virus.  The United Kingdom is running the world’s largest clinical trial, called Recovery, with more than 12000 patients taking part in it.  It is one of the few trials to have given a definitive view of which drugs do and do not work on the virus.  The WHO is running the Solidarity trial to assess promising treatments in countries around the world.  Multiple pharmaceutical companies are running trials of their own drugs.

There are three broad approaches being investigated for the therapies.  First approach is antiviral drugs that directly affect the Coronavirus’s ability to thrive inside the body.  Second approach is drugs that calm the immune system of patients from overreacting and damaging the body due to the COVID-19 infection.  Third approach is antibodies that can target the virus, taken from either survivor’s blood plasma or made in laboratory.  It is possible that different drugs will work better at different stages – such as anti-virals at the beginning and immune drugs in late-stage diseases.  Combinations of therapies will also be investigated.

Let's look at the HIV cases.  If you are recently tested positive for HIV, the good news is that treatment with modern HIV drugs has improved greatly over the past few decades.  However,  the therapy does involve taking several medications daily and missing doses of medications, or only taking it occasionally, increases the risk of drug resistance.  This reduces the effectiveness of the medications and may cause the condition to worsen.  This treatment is often referred to as an HIV regimen.

As we study these viruses, we are beginning to understand that there are similarities in the damages these viruses do to the world population.  That is one of the main reasons they are classified together as viruses not bacteria, fungi, protozoans and helminthes which are different types of infectious agents.

Virology is the study of these viruses.  As mentioned, viruses are submicroscopic and parasitic particles of genetic material contained in a protein coat and act like infectious agents. Virology focuses on the following aspects of viruses: their structure, classification and evolution, their ways to infect and exploit host cells for reproduction, their interaction with host organism physiology and immunity, the diseases they cause, the techniques to isolate and culture them, and their use in research and therapy. There is a theory that viruses have originated in insects many millions of years ago and at some point in evolution developed the ability to infect other species such as human beings.

Now there is a branch of virology called synthetic virology that is the study and engineering of man-made viruses.  This technology is being used to investigate novel vaccine strategies and potential gene therapy tools.  In fact, the information of man-made viruses full-length genome sequence is available to general public.

However, experts are forecasting that these viruses will get worst if not taken care of properly.  Therefore, read more and donate now before it is too late to solve these viral problems.
